Project: The International Express: A Guide to Communities along the #7 Train

Recognition: The Municipal Art Society of New York Community Award, 2008
“The International Express” is a walking tour of the communities along the #7 train. Particular interest is given to the unique fusion of historical sites mixed with havens for contemporary graffiti, unfamiliar languages and dress next to icons of Americana-past like the Unisphere, and every range of religious worship and artistic expression from every culture. Queens Borough President, Helen Marshall, references this piece often to reinforce the identity and unique asset of the borough as “the most culturally-diverse county in the nation”.

Located on Sebonac Neck, Bayberry Land is a small portion of the Shinnecock Hills on Long Island's South Fork. In 1911 wealthy New Yorkers created the National Golf Links of America. In 1916 Charles H. Sabin and his bride, Pauline Morton Smith Sabin, decided to build a country home, to be named "Bayberry Land" after the low shrub covering. The picturesque site went through several hands over the years and fell into grave disrepair. moonkissed media was asked to document the estate and create an historical record of its significance to the area prior to be demolished in 2005.

Client: Camille Wynn Personal Fitness Training
Project: identity Package
moonkissed media credits: Design / Photography / Copywriting / Marketing & Advertising
Camille Wynn, was very clear about her desire to work exclusively with women who possessed “truth in spirit” and a personal drive for self-improvement. We developed a series of marketing materials that featured Camille in classically inspired “sculptural” poses expressing her beauty, self-confidence, as well as the quiet honor she pays to her body and soul. This messaging style is in direct opposition to most in this genre, which push vanity, celebrity, excess and unrealistic quick-fix promises.

NYC up & OUT! is NYC’s most comprehensive events calendar serving the LGBT community in the NYC-metro area. Over 60,000 copies were distributed throughout the 5 boroughs, Long Island and NJ until the publication became completely web-based. In 2004 and 2005, I developed the media kit and all advertising, marketing and promotional materials. I also managed the market research, writing and editing of event information for the first two editions. I continue to compile and edit the bi-weekly e-newsletter.
